Xiaomi to soon release a sliding quad-cam device
The patent is for a device featuring four cameras on the back of the device in a little circular protrusion.
Chinese brand Xiaomi which recently completed its 5-year anniversary in india by launching the ‘Flagship Killer 2.0’ Redmi K20 series of devices has now landed a patent in China for a new design.
The patent is for a device featuring four cameras on the back of the device in a little circular protrusion. The device also slides vertically to reveal the front camera. When the phone is not slided open, it will be a full screen without any kind of notch, as seen on many pop-up camera featuring devices these days.
The absence of a fingerprint design on the device schematics suggests an in-display fingerprint reader. This further suggests that the phone will sport an AMOLED screen. There is also no 3.5mm jack visible but a USB-C port is spotted on the bottom of the phone.
In another patent, a new design with three vertical cameras and a flash can be spotted. There are two cameras on the front, enclosed in a large but minimal curve-notch rather than a water-drop notch.
The fingerprint scanner is missing here as well and we expect this design to also feature the AMOLED screen + in-display fingerprint combination.
It remains to be seen if and when XIaomi decides to push out new devices with these designs.
