OPPO A5 goes official in India
The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 450 SoC, paired with Adreno 506 GPU for rendering graphics.
OPPO has launched its latest mid-range smartphone — OPPO A5 in India. The handset was originally unveiled in China this year. The smartphone sports 19:9 display and a textured rear panel that comes with added glass protection.
The OPPO A5 embraces a large 6.23-inch HD+ Full View display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, a 2.5D curved glass panel on top and an 87.9 per cent screen-to-body ratio. Underneath, there is a Snapdragon 450 SoC, paired with Adreno 506 GPU for rendering graphics. The device comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. It runs on ColorOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
On the photography front, the A5 bears a dual camera set up at the back — one with a 13MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and the other one with a 2MP secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture, supported by an LED flash. For selfies, the device houses an 8MP camera sensor with f/2.2 aperture. Additionally, there is an artificial intelligence (AI) backed Beauty Technology 2.0, claimed to recognise 296 facial points. The 4230mAh battery is rated to deliver 14 hours of video playback on a single charge. On the connectivity front, it includes 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The handset will be available in Blue and Rose Gold colour options through offline retail stores in the country. The OPPO A5 carries a price tag of Rs 14,990.
