When the Samsung Galaxy S8 came out months ago, the world fell in love with its gorgeous Infinity Display. Samsung had found the perfect balance between latest technology and a beautiful design. Even with iPhone X hanging around, one simply cannot ignore the presence of the S8’s display. There’s only one issue with the S8 — its price. However, it seems like Samsung is looking to address the issue with the next year’s lineup of Galaxy A 2018 series.

The Galaxy A series is known for bringing Samsung’s premium build quality with midrange specifications at an affordable price. The 2017 model lineup imitated last year’s Galaxy S7 and if we are to believe SamMobile’s report, then the A 2018 series could be following in the footsteps of the Galaxy S8. The report mentions a leak from a case manufacturer, who was over-enthusiastic to accidentally share the actual design of the Galaxy A5 2018.

If you focus your attention, then the Galaxy A5 2017 looks extremely familiar to the Galaxy S8, sans the curved edges. The A5 2017 is also seen with only a single selfie camera but Samsung could push for the iris recognition feature for its bigger sibling — the Galaxy A7 2018.

Things get interesting at the rear as the fingerprint sensor moves to the back. However, if you notice carefully, the fingerprint sensor sits below the camera. Rumours about the Galaxy S9 have been indicating a repositioned fingerprint sensor and the Galaxy A5 2017 leak could very well give us a glimpse of Samsung’s new design strategy for the upcoming S9 flagship.

The new Galaxy A 2018 series is expected to compete with the premium smartphone category, where the likes of Moto Z2 Play and the Honor 8 Pro thrive.
