Google launched its flagship Pixel smartphones last year and received an overwhelming response for its camera, optimised software and zippy performance. Google is now expected to unveil the successors to these smartphones. There were reports about the company working on three smartphones codenamed Taimen, Muskie and Walleye. Now there are reports that the Google might ditch the Muskie model.

Recently the XDA developers have obtained more information on the upcoming devices including their specifications. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 4GB RAM.  The smartphone will be sans the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Google Pixel XL 2 or the Taimen on the other hand is said to feature a 5.99-inch OLED display with 1440 pixel resolution. It will also have the Snapdragon 835 at its heart backed by 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

Camera wise, the leak claims that the Pixel XL 2 will boast a single camera with a dual LED flash. However, other reports claim that the device will house a dual camera setup on the rear panel. Both smartphones are also expected to come in multiple storage options.
