HMD Global set for Nokia 8 launch in August: report

A Scandinavian retailer had claimed Nokia 8 will cost €589 (approximately Rs 43,415).

The Nokia 8 was launched last month for the Indian market and comes with bundled data from Reliance Jio. The device is priced at Rs 36,999 and includes up to 100GB of additional data.

Nokia’s marketing partner HMD Global is scheduled to launch its next flagship device, the Nokia 8, on August 16 at an event in London, reported The Verge.

According to the report, the handset will come equipped with Carl Zeiss Optics on the camera lens. In terms of specification, the Nokia 8 is rumoured to feature a 5.3-inch Quad HD screen, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage option with microSD support. The phone is also known to sport a dual-camera setup featuring two 13MP sensors, along with laser autofocus sensor and dual-tone LED flash. Similar to previously launched Nokia models by HMD Global, Nokia 8 will also operate on Android Nougat OS. The device is expected to release in copper gold, blue and silver colour variants.

Although, the cost of the smartphone is yet to be officially announced, a Scandinavian retailer had claimed it will cost €589 (approximately Rs 43,415). However, the price tag is expected to be lower in other countries.
