The latest version of the iOS also adds the AirPods support to Find my iPhone feature
Apple has again rolled out its latest batch of updates. Also, the MacOS is getting the update today which also includes the inclusion of the eyestrain-reducing Night Shift mode.
In the mobile department, the Cupertino based company has received the iOS 10.3 and watchOS 3.2 have launched, with new features to Apple phones, tablets, and smartwatches.
The latest version of the iOS also adds the AirPods support to “Find my iPhone” feature, allowing those who’ve misplaced one of their wireless earbuds so that they can ping it on the map or play a sound to help pick it out of a messy room or a cluttered bag.
iOS 10.3 has also given more power to Apple’s digital assistant, Siri, adding increased support for checking pending bills on payment apps, scheduling trips via ridesharing apps, and even monitoring fuel, locks, and lights for your car with certain automaker apps.
Even the Apple CarPlay also gets some affection from iOS 10.3 which is primarily shortcuts for accessing recent applications and even curated playlists courtesy of Apple Music.
Other additional features from iOS 10.3 includes the ability to watch rented iTunes movies across multiple devices, 3D Touch and widget support for the Podcast app, and the ability to delete unwanted invites in the Calendar app and mark them as junk.
To get the latest version of the iOS 10.3, open settings app on your device, go to General tab, and then find “Software Update.” One has to make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi and plugged into a charger to save data and battery.
Among the latest prominent features for the Watch is Theater Mode which prevents the screen from waking up when you move your wrist and mutes incoming messages — an especially courteous move for the next time when you are at the movies/cinema.
The latest updated version of watchOS 3.2 also carries SiriKit, which allows the digital assistant to work with third-party apps on your watch. The arena of apps which the developers can integrate Siri with the Apple Watch are limited to certain sectors — such as payment, transportation, and fitness.
To update to watchOS 3.2, you’ll first be needed to update your tethered iPhone to the latest version of the iOS.
Next, while both the Watch and iPhone are charged and connected to Wi-Fi, open the Apple Watch app, tap the My Watch tab, then hit the General tab and find “Software Update.”
