Red tint on Samsung Galaxy S8's is natural to AMOLED displays, gets software fix
The claim comes from Samsung Mobile after Galaxy S8 users complained of a red tint on its screen.
Samsung recently told at a press conference that the red tint on the Galaxy S8 is not a result of any hardware failure. The phones are claimed to be tested extensively by Samsung and are supposed to be issue free regarding its display.
Samsung stated that the red tint is a “natural to Super AMOLED displays” and is completely normal. There is no issue or glitch regarding the display or the GPU on the Galaxy S8.
Samsung had said previously that the S8 and the S8+ will receive software updates to balance the colour tone of the screen. The company has already started releasing the updates to the S8 and S8+ units in Korea. The update provides additional settings under the Adaptive Display screen mode. The new options will allow S8 and S8+ users to balance the red tint according to their individual preferences.
Samsung will roll out the fix to the phones in other regions as well very soon.
