Oppo launches F5 with bezel-less display
The selfie-centric Oppo F5 has been priced at PHP 15,990 (approx Rs 20,000).
Oppo has unveiled a selfie-centric smartphone, the Oppo F5, a successor to the OPPO F3. The Oppo F5 has been priced at PHP 15,990 (approx Rs 20,000). As of now, the smartphone is up for pre-orders in the Philippines.
The smartphone, much like previous handsets, focuses on selfies and highlights a near bezel-less design, facial recognition, and a massive 20MP front-facing camera with AI recognition technology, among other things. It is set to launch in India on November 2.
Talking about the specifications, the device features a narrow-bezel 6-inch LCD display with full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2160 pixels). It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6763T processor clubbed with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB storage. The device runs on ColorOS 3.2 based on Android 7.1 Nougat and supports dual Nano-SIM functionality.
In terms of connectivity, the Oppo F5 comes with GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 and USB OTG support. The smartphone is fuelled by a 3200mAh battery.
The handset sports a 16MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 20MP sensor at the front with f/2.0 aperture. Both the cameras are accompanied by individual LED flash. The company claims that the front camera is integrated with AI-based technology as well as a facial feature optimisation technology to help create the perfect selfie.
OPPO says "With more than 200 positioning spots, the F5 accentuates your facial landmarks and contours to enhance the symmetry between features such as eyes, nose, cheekbones and jawline to create the perfectly refined and natural selfie. Its beauty-iris tool ensures that your eyes will shine brighter in any photo." It also has a Portrait mode for bokeh shots.
