Xiaomi India VP Manu Jain met up with Qualcomm’s executives and in a tweet teased that a new Xiaomi handset would be launched soon in India and it will be powered by a Snapdragon 730 or 730G chipset.

As per a report by GSMArena, the tweet doesn’t explicitly what handset will be announced but hints indirectly at a Snapdragon 700 series chipset that was announced a couple of weeks ago namely the Snapdragon 730 and 730G. These chipsets are built on the 8nm process that aids in efficiency.

The report states that this could be the Xiaomi Mi A3, a handset that’s expected to feature a triple rear camera setup, a Snapdragon 730 SoC and a 4000mAh battery. As of now details on the triple cameras aren’t yet available but rumours suggest that it will come with a 48MP primary sensor, a 13MP camera and an 8MP shooter. The last two mentioned cameras are in all likelihood an ultra-wide shooter and a telephoto sensor. Other reports suggest that the Mi A3 will come with an OLED display with support for an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The report ends by stating that as of now there’s no word yet available on pricing or by when it will actually launch. If reports are anything to go by then we could see it being introduced first in China before making its way to India.
