Apple fixes security loophole with new update

Apple has begun rolling out its latest update for all of its iOS running devices. It aims to introduce further security patches and bug fixes that have been pointed out after iOS 12.4 had come out last month.

The vulnerability was previously patched with its iOS 12.3 update. Last week, a report was released which stated that Apple’s last update had unpatched security vulnerabilities in the phone that would enable hackers to access data on the handsets. Several users were also running a ‘jailbreak’, which lets them customise their handsets and run un-supported apps on their devices. Apple gives it devices additional security by not allowing this usually

Hacker @Pwn20wnd was also thanked by Apple, when it released its update, since he brought the tech giants attention to the vulnerability. They had developed a jailbreak and published it. It is unusual to have a jailbreak published like that, since they usually sell for millions and risk being immediately fixed by Apple.

Apple users can check for the latest update manually from going to the settings app, selecting general and then tapping on software update, which is named iOS 12.4.1. To check the number of the current iOS version they are running and know whether they have automatically installed to the update or not, users can go to settings, tap on general and then select about.
