Gamers get ready, ROG comes to India

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has finally launched its ROG Phone in India, which was first unveiled globally at Computex 2018 in June this year. The key highlight of the device is 2.96GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with Adreno 630, 3D vapour-chamber cooling system and detachable AeroActive cooler for 5X duration peak performance. The device comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage. It runs on ROG Gaming UI based on Android Oreo.

The ROG Phone also features ultrasonic AirTrigger touch sensors, an exclusive gamer-centric design with side-mounted ports optimized for landscape-mode. The handset flaunts a 6-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with HDR visuals, a 90Hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time for a true gaming experience. The display comes with 108.6 per cent DCI-P3 colour gamut and 10000:1 contrast ratio. It is backed by a 4000mAh battery supporting ASUS HyperCharge, which is ASUS’s version of fast charge technology.

On the imaging front, there is a dual rear camera setup with 12MP Sony sensor and f/1.7 aperture, and an 8MP camera with a 120-degree wide angle. Upfront, there is an 8MP selfie camera. The device has Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, Glonass, GPS, AGPS, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm jack. There is also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The handset is also IPX4 rated that confirms splash-resistant body.

ASUS asserts that there is a range of peripherals and extensions that make use of all these ports. in addition to that, one can use these ports for headphones; high-speed charging, HDMI output and Gigabit LAN. Some of the peripherals ASUS have announced for the ROG Phone are AeroActive Cooler, Mobile Desktop Dock, TwinView Dock. The ASUS ROG Phone retails at a price of Rs 69,999 and will be exclusively available via Flipkart from November 29.
