LG G7 to pack Snapdragon 845 SoC
LG has reportedly started working with Qualcomm to integrate the next-gen Snapdragon 845 SoC in its LG G7 smartphone.
Earlier this year, LG unveiled its G6 flagship smartphone powered by Qualcomm’s 821 SoC at the same time as Samsung signed an exclusive deal with the latter for debuting its Snapdragon 835 SoC with Galaxy S8, S8 Plus smartphones. In order to avoid such a thing to happen again, LG has reportedly started working with Qualcomm to integrate the next-gen Snapdragon 845 SoC in its LG G7 smartphone.
According to a report published by Korea Herald, LG does not want to fall behind in the flagship battle next year and so, is planning on integrating the Snapdragon 845 SoC in the LG G7 smartphone. The report, which cites Aju Business Daily also claims that the next-gen SoC will be built on the 7nm process and is expected to be 30 per cent more powerful than the current generation Snapdragon 835 SoC.
While not much is revealed about the upcoming SoC, a recent leak has led fans to believe that Qualcomm plans on following the same pattern as last year by debuting its Snapdragon 845 SoC with Galaxy S8 next year. If this turns out to be true then LG will probably unveil its G7 smartphone after the launch of Samsung Galaxy S9.
