Gionee's latest is a luxury smartphone with premium features

Gionee recently unveiled its new luxury, Android-enabled smartphone namely, M2017. It is widely believed that luxury smartphones tend be less about efficiency and more about style. However, Gionee M2017 in contrary to the commonly lead belief has come with M2017 that packs a 7,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 653 and 6GB RAM.

The luxury smartphone sports a 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED display with curved edges. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Gionee’s ‘Amigo’ UI version 3.5. The M2017 comes in two storage variants – 4GB RAM/128GB and 6GB RAM/256 GB. The smartphone also reportedly supports Quick Charge 3.0 technology via USB-C port.

Coming to its primary attraction, the Gionee M2017 dons a jewellery-style aesthetic with gold edges, camera plate and all-gold software icons. Unfortunately, the device is only available in China at a starting price of 6999 Yuan or about $1000 (approximately Rs 68,000). There is no information regarding the company’s plans of introducing the new M2017 in foreign markets yet.
