Makers of Tom Clancy’s The Division have a new update.

With a game that is all but dead on the PC, Massive Entertainment have a mountain to climb if they want to breathe new life in to Tom Clancy’s The Division. Well, that is exactly what they are planning on doing with the upcoming patch 1.4 for the game.

Massive and Ubisoft have launched the ‘Public Test Server’ and opened it to the public in order to test the salient features of the upcoming patch and give them feedback regarding changes. The best part about this is that you experience the full game, even if you don’t have a season pass. That means you get to play the underground, the Dragon’s Nest incursion and all that good stuff which would be otherwise locked.

Apart from that, patch 1.4 does overhaul the gameplay mechanics significantly. First of all, LMGs are no longer useless, the mobs are no longer bullet sponges, requiring you to empty entire clips into them before they die. Massive have also introduced a new world tier system, in which the level of the mobs you encounter scales with your gear score post level 30, and the higher the world tier you are in, the more awesome the loot. The same change will be implemented in the Dark Zone (the PvP arena) as well, with the frequency and quality of loot being dropped by mobs also being tweaked for the better.
