Rockstar finally unveiled the much-awaited Red Dead Redemption 2.
After a few teasers and cryptic social media posts Rockstar has finally unveiled their new project: Red Dead Redemption 2.
Go back in time as you take on the Wild West in what is surely to be one of the most talked about games in the upcoming years, as Rockstar usually comes up big and given how popular the original was there is no doubt this will be another blockbuster hit. The games teaser trailer showed varied landscapes and vistas hinting at a massive world to give GTA V a run for its money and if the post launch content support of GTA is anything to go by then we are certainly in for a treat.
“With Red Dead Redemption 2, the team is working hard to push forward our vision for interactive entertainment in a truly living world,” said Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games. “We hope to deliver players an epic experience that builds upon everything we've learned making games.”
Hinting at a ‘living world’ and the fact there is probably a new online mode and of course how popular GTA Online has been, might just be a big shift for Rockstar. The sheer number of players still on GTA Online and its success might just force a fundamental shift in what Rockstar offers with its games.
However, as long as the singleplayer doesn’t drop in quality I don’t think anyone in their right minds will complain. More great content with friends is always awesome, as long as the servers work of course.
Just the possibilities of Old West bank and train heists and horseback chases has me going on a Western movie binge just to be able to hold on to my sanity while we wait for more information and gameplay from Red Dead Redemption. The game is set to launch for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 come fall 2017, while PC gamers will probably have to wait till mid-2018 for their port.
