Apple might not offer wireless charging on all models that will be part of the iPhone 8 series but only on select versions.

Several reports suggest that Apple is planning significant upgrades with its upcoming iPhone smartphone as this will also be marking their 10th anniversary with the Apple iPhone flagship.

Among the numerous rumoured features is the wireless charging option that reports suggest will be added to the next iPhone. According to a report published by Nikkei, Foxconn is currently working with Apple to determine whether wireless charging could be offered with the next-generation iPhone.

‘The introduction of wireless charging capabilities is part of Apple’s ongoing efforts to overhaul the iPhone design to boost sales during the 10th anniversary of its ubiquitous and iconic device that had transformed mobile internet and communications since the release of its first incarnation,’ the report read.

‘For now, the new model has been widely dubbed iPhone 8, although Apple may christen it differently given the special occasion of its launch,’ the report added.

The report even went on to suggest that Apple might not offer wireless charging on all models that will be part of the iPhone 8 series but only on select versions.
