With crew help, Preet pulls off intimate shot

Poonam Preet, who is currently seen playing Bindu in period drama Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, developed cold feet when she was asked to be part of an intimate scene with the leading man of the show, Sartaj Gill. The sequence required the actress to come out of Raja’s bathroom draped in a towel, to seduce him. Since this was the first time she was set out to do a bold scene, the idea unnerved the actress. Her discomfort was visible and the team took a note of it. The team decided to put Poonam at ease by calling for a larger towel, and limiting crew members on the sets while filming the scene.

When we contacted Poonam, she said, “I have never attempted shooting such a scene previously. When you’re wearing just a towel, you’re going to get conscious. The last thing you want in a situation like this is a wardrobe malfunction on the sets. But my creative and production team were sensitive about my worries. The team allowed limited crew members when the scene was shot. Sartaj is a friend, so I wasn’t awkward with him at all. I think it also helped that the team specifically called for a larger towel to shoot the scene. I delivered the scene to the best of my ability because the script demanded it. I am so glad that I managed to pull it off.”
