Ever since West Indies cricketer Dwayne Bravo was spotted with Bollywood actress Shriya Sharan, there have been rumours that the two are dating each other. When we asked him if two are an item, he dropped the tried and tested clichéd line. “Shriya and I are good friends. There is nothing more to it [laughs]. Yeah, she is a beautiful girl.”
The cricketer is overwhelmed with the attention he has been receiving in India. He says, “Nobody cares where I go in my country. They might just call out my name and say ‘Hey Bravo’ and walk away. The only time I am in the news is when I am playing cricket or working on my music. No one would be waiting outside a restaurant or a nightclub in order to get a photo of me. But, it’s different here in India” says Bravo.
The cricketer’s weakness for dance and music is well known and his participation in dance reality show Jhalak Diklaa Jaa, therefore, has hardly come as a surprise. He says, “It is the biggest dance reality show of the country, so why not It’s a new opportunity for me, and also gives my fans a chance to see me do something different as well.”
His towel dance has made him a hot-favourite on the platform already; it has made him a contender. Point it to Dwayne and the cricketer blushes. “For the first time, when I saw the towel dance on TV, which Salman performed I actually enjoyed and laughed! I found it cool and when I came here on Jhalak, they said that is the song I have to dance to. I got really excited because that’s the part of the song was fun. My choreographer makes me comfortable with the steps. I like some of the dance moves from Indian dances. It’s a different challenge to remember the dance steps, sync with your partner, to be judged and dance in front of the audiences. Cricket comes naturally to me, while dance needs a lot of hard work.”
