For the umpteenth time now, actor Amar Upadhyay is being hounded by rumours of him quitting Sath Nibhana Sathiya. The actor is furious with the malicious lies that are being circulated by his detractors. Amar says, “I am tired of hearing that I am quitting Sathiya. People have been calling me every few days to figure out whether I am leaving the show or not. This is shocking. Maybe someone in the production team doesn’t want me to continue, or probably they want to see someone else taking up the role. Unfortunately for them, I am not leaving the show. I will play Dharam till the last day of the show.”
Amar states that a previous attempt to garner publicity by the channel may also have contributed to the confusion. “These rumours started doing the rounds in March when my character fell from a building. The channel spread rumours that I was going to leave the show to garner some good publicity. It was good for some time but these rumours came to haunt me time and again. Someone has been deliberately spreading nasty rumours about me,” says Amar. The actor continues, “I did have some issues earlier about my dates but I aired out my concerns to producer Rashami Sharma, she was kind enough to reduce the time I had to put in. Today, I am free to give the remaining dates to other projects. The team is being so cooperative.”
Recently, the makers called back their original leading man Mohammad Nazim in the show to salvage the dropping ratings. When asked if Nazim’s re-entry changes the dynamics in the show, the actor says, “Dharam Suryavanshi is a very powerful character. The story cannot move ahead without him. Nazim and I both went missing from the show for a short time and now we are back with a bang. I am on an equal footing with all the key actors in the show. Dharam, Kokila, Jaggi and Gopi are taking the story forward. We are the four pillars of the show; our characters will be there till the very end. When we weren’t around the ratings were dipping. Luckily things are back on track.”
