‘I’m mentally and physically strong’

While it’s usually star parents who inspire their children to take up acting, in the case of film and TV actress Madhurima Tuli, it’s the other way round. The actress’ success has encouraged her mother to enrol in acting classes and try her luck in showbiz.
The actress laughs and says, “While growing up, my mom inspired me to be an all-rounder—she’s herself a singer, mountaineer, now actor. When she told me about wanting to act, I said, ‘No mom, I don’t want you to go through this stress at this age.’ She said, ‘If you can attend auditions and act, why cant I ’
On the work front, Madhurima has just completed shooting for the reality show I Can Do That, where she was one of the finalists. “The show lasted just four-five weeks and we didn’t even realise when it ended. I’ve always been an athlete so I knew I was strong physically, but now I’ve realised that I’m tough mentally too. I got a standing ovation for the Gatka act and my dad came on stage, it was an emotional moment.”
While she has been doing South films, we haven’t seen the actress in a Bollywood film after her stint as Akshay Kumar’s wife in Baby. “I am still waiting for some good film offers. Meanwhile I’m open to doing short series on TV.”
