In a double eviction this week, Vikas Bhalla was eliminated from the Bigg Boss house along with Gujarati singer Arvind Vegda. The singer-actor however, is glad to be back in the ‘real’ world. In a candid chat he tells us, “It feels nice to be in the real world with real people once again. I was expecting to be out much sooner, as the place was completely off my zone.”

Given the controversial nature of the show, we ask him why he decided to be a part of the show in the first place. He says, “I did not follow the previous seasons of the show regularly but I used to watch the episodes with Salman. I knew it was a controversial show where crazy things happened all the time, but it was also a platform for me to get back into the popularity zone.”

In his three-week stint, Vikas kept a low profile on the show. He recounts, “I tried my best to keep away from being a part of any camp and frictional zones. I didn’t want to get involved in people’s matters and trivial issues. People inside the house fought on issues like an unclean bathroom and extra servings of sabzi. They used to fight on these issues like cats and dogs,” he says. However, he does understand that this was an effort for the co-contestants to stay in the limelight. “A lot of people were reacting only because there were 120 cameras watching them constantly. There is immense pressure to portray an image and enact a character. I knew some of the people from the very beginning and they were simply not being themselves. That was not possible for me,” he admits. “I was frustrated from the third day itself. The people inside seem to have abided by the saying jo dikhega woh bikega. They stood in front of the camera and kept on saying dialogues — I am not that kind of person. I would never sell my ideologies and integrity to be a part of the show,” he asserts.

Speaking about his co-contestants on the show, he says, “Prince and Suyyash are extremely talented and have a great sense of humour. They are being genuine and are not putting up an act, but they also tend to loose their tempers soon and that’s not great for the game.” Vikas would like to place his bets on Aman Verma. “I would put all my money on Aman, he is an experienced player and knows to play his game well,” he says.

So, is he willing to enter the house again as a wildcard if approached “Bigg Boss is once in a lifetime opportunity, but once is enough. I do not want to go back again.”
