Now, Vishal Singh to quit Saath Nibhaana Saathiya

After leading lady Devoleena Bhattacharjee said no to ageing any further on Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, actor Vishal Singh will follow suit. The latest buzz on the sets is that Vishal too might quit the show if the makers go ahead with the leap. A source close to the development reveals, “Like Devoleena, Vishal too has reservations with ageing on screen. He thinks if he plays the role of a grandparent so early in his career, his market value will come crashing down. He has communicated his concerns about aging on television to the makers. If the leap happens, the actor will most certainly quit the show.” The source further continues, “His fear is justified to a great extent but the story has to move forward. The show cannot go on with a stagnating storyline. Now with Vishal too giving the production house an ultimatum, there is tension brewing on the sets. Confidential meetings are being held to mull over the course of action. The makers are trying their best to convince the actors to work out a solution.”

Confirming about the development, Vishal said, “We have been cribbing for a long time about the leap but they went ahead and made us play parents to actors who are younger than us by a few years. We convinced ourselves and decided to continue. But now they want us to play grandparents. Obviously we are not comfortable looking like that on television. Most of us have told them clearly that if the leap happens once again, we may have to consider quitting. If they postpone the leap, I will continue otherwise I would like to focus on my international projects.”
