Recreating the magic of Gerua

Mahesh Bhatt’s mega project Namkarann’s cast and crew got a chance to visit Kashmir just before the ongoing unrest. The lead actors of the show Barkha Bisht and Viraf Patel, shot for a special romantic sequence in Sonmarg. The actors along with the crew had a great time soaking in the panoramic view of the snow-capped mountains. The leading pair also emulated Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol as they recreated Gerua – the hit number from King Khan’s film, Dilwale.

The romantic scene required the actors to shoot on a boat. While shooting the sequence, Barkha’s sari pallu kept floating in the air due to the wind and that’s when Viraf got the idea of giving the sequence a Gerua touch. Viraf’s idea got the team working and the crew gladly obliged to include the scene in their track. The actor watched the song over and over again so he could get his moves right. Being a die hard Shah Rukh Khan fan, the pair left no stone unturned to make the sequence realistic by giving in their best. Talking about the same, Barkha says, “It was an extremely impromptu moment. I’m a huge SRK fan and emulating his sequence onscreen only added to the excitement. Viraf rehearsed the moves with me several times and we mastered the act. The results were simply brilliant. We all had a wonderful time shooting in Sonmarg.” The chemistry created by the actors will surely be something to watch out for.
