Actress Ritu Seth, who is best remembered for her role as Tulsi Virani’s daughter Shobha Virani in the iconic show Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is returning to the tube after eight long years. After roping in actor Priyanshu Jora to play the show’s lead Abhishek, the makers of Bade Bhaiyya Ki Dulhania have added Ritu to the cast in the role of Abhishek’s Chachi.

While most actresses her age are more than happy playing moms on screen, Ritu, who has instead opted for the role of a Chachi to make her comeback, says that she has no qualms about her role and in fact makes it clear that she would rather not play a mom. She says, “I don’t want to play a mother as every on-screen mom looks the same and does similar stuff on the screen. What is the point of following the herd I like doing things differently and that’s why I took this role up. My character Madhu is quite promising and will add a lot of spice to the story. I decided to take it up the moment I heard the show’s concept, as the show and my character in particular are very interesting. I am sure the viewers will love to see me in this new avatar.” The actress, who has been on a break ever since Kyuki ended, tells us why she was off the screen for so long and says, “After Kyuki ended, I took a break for personal reasons as I wanted to focus on my family.

Now that my daughter is five-and-a-half years old, I felt it was right time to make a comeback. I realised that it’s never going to happen if I don’t return now and Bade Bhaiyya ki Dulhaniya seemed like the perfect choice and I am thrilled about this new adventure in my career.”
