Shweta Basu Prasad has of late been in the news for all the wrong reasons. But it seems that for the Makdi girl, the focus is now clearly back on her work. Shweta, who has been working as a script consultant for Phantom Films tells us that Anurag Kashyap is keen to cast her in one of his films. She says, “He (Anurag) told me ‘While scouting for scripts, look for a role for yourself’. I’ve also known Vikramaditya’s (Motwane) mother for a while now and she too has been very encouraging and pushing me to get back into acting.”
While she is exposed to some of the best scripts through her work at Phantom, acting has always been on her mind, adds Shweta. She says, “My job at Phantom has helped me understand films better. But now I want to return to being in front of the camera. I wanted to be sure of what I wanted to do and now I have no doubts.”
Shweta was recently part of the AIB’s Quawalli video and is also doing an episode of Bipasha Basu’s Darr Sabko Lagta Hai. “I play a girl who moves into a haunted house in the show,” says Shweta, but affirms that her interest is not in the small screen. “I’m not sure if I will do more of TV, but this show was being shot in a short film format, which is why I agreed,” she adds.
