Suchitra Pillai awaits Hollywood release

Suchitra Pillai who was last seen in a pivotal role in Beintehaa, is now looking forward to her Hollywood release, The Other Side of the Door. The film has Sarah Wayne Callies and Jeremy Sisto, as her co-stars among other actors. Speaking to us about the shoot, an excited Suchitra says, “The film is shot entirely in India. It’s a horror film and sometimes I would get so scared through the shoots even though we shot in bright day light in Mumbai. I play the role of a woman who is over 60 years old. I wasn’t apprehensive about playing an older role. A lot of people who were auditioning prior to me insisted that they only want two lines of grey hair for the look test. But I told them to slap it on!”

Speaking about her co-stars Sarah and Jeremy, Suchitra says, “Sarah is fantastic. We are very much in touch. I took her roaming around Mumbai and the Hare Rama Hare Krishna temple close to my house. As for Jeremy, we just had two scenes together but he’s easy to work with. The team is looking at a big scale release in the US, so I’m hoping to catch up with the entire team at the premiere again.”
