Three Indian cities amongst the cheapest to live in the world
The Economist Intelligence Unit's 2019 Worldwide Cost of Living Survey revealed three Indian cities are amongst the cheapest in the world.
New York: Three Indian cities Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru are among the cheapest cities in the world to live in according to the Economist Intelligence Unit's 2019 Worldwide Cost of Living Survey while Paris, Hong Kong and Singapore are the joint top three most expensive cities in the world.
The survey evaluated the cost of over 150 items in almost 133 cities around the globe.
The city of Zurich in Switzerland was placed in fourth position. Japan's Osaka shared fifth spot with Geneva which is also in Switzerland. South Korea's Seoul, Copenhagen from Denmark and New York all jointly held the seventh spot. Los Angelas and Israel's Tel Aviv also managed to make the top 10 in the list of most expensive cities in the world.
Toward the tail end of the list were cities of Caracus (Venezuela), Damascus (Syria), Karachi, Lagos (Nigeria) and Argentina's Buenos Aires. The three indian cities of Bengaluru, Chennai and Delhi also made the cut and are among the cheapest cities in the world.
