Mexico adds Melania ammo' to border battle with Trump
Trump was neither photographed nor interviewed explicitly for Vanity Fair Mexico though.
Washington: The stylish First Lady, who grabbed fashion headlines with her Ralph Lauren sky blue cashmere jacket and mock turtleneck dress at Donald Trump’s inauguration and an ivory gown designed by Herve Pierre at the inaugural balls is in the news again.
But this time, the timing seems to be imperfect for Mexicans considering that US-Mexico ties have plunged precariously after the US President announced construction of a border wall with the southern neighbour. Melania graces the cover of Vanity Fair Mexico’s February issue, which was released on Thursday.
According to ABC, the First Lady and former model appears in the cover in a Douglas Friedman-shot photo with a cover line that promises to reveal how she deals with her presidential husband and how she may be the next Jackie Kennedy. Trump was neither photographed nor interviewed explicitly for Vanity Fair Mexico though. Both the photo and accompanying interview originally appeared in GQ magazine. The timing of the cover’s release didn’t sit well with many Mexicans, which came a day after Mr Trump ordered the groundwork for building the wall.
