Pak CJI orders to fill Hindu temple pond
It is believed that historic pond have depleted as adjacent factories have sucked out the underground water.
Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Wednesday ordered Bestway Cement Factory to fill the Katas Raj pond around the historic temple within one week.
The aforementioned order was placed during hearing of suo-moto case on weariness of the pond located at the temple site in Chakwal.
The CJ expressed annoyance over absence of owner of Bestway Cement Factory and inquired who gave the rights to the conglomerate to suck out the underground water. “We will not transcend our jurisdiction but will certainly fill the administrative space”, he remarked.
“We would shut down all factories if fetid atmosphere deteriorates further”, the CJ said.

During hearing, disgruntled CJ said: “Whenever I travel via motorway, I am dismayed as elite class has ruined the natural scenic beauty. Don’t make life of masses full of miseries under guise of producing cement.”
