Islamabad: A 16-year-old brother on Tuesday killed his 12-year-old sister for using mobile phone in Pakistan’s Lahore city.

The police said Saifullah gunned down his sister when she continued to use cell phone despite repeated warnings. The suspect allegedly hid the gun inside a cupboard and shifted the body to the hospital.

Saifullah fled the scene however, he was arrested afterwards, police said. “A case has been launched and an investigation is underway,” a police official said.

Meanwhile on Tuesday, two lawyers were shot dead by another lawyer following a clash between them at the Lahore sessions court.

The lawyers engaged into a fight over a longstanding property dispute. One of them resorted to firing and killed two others. The suspect identified as Kashif Rajput was immediately taken into custody by the police. One of the victims died on the spot while the other succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. The deceased have been identified as advocate Rana Nadeem and Rana Owais.

Soon after the incident, a heavy contingent of police arrived at the court and cordoned off the area. A thorough search was conducted and security was tightened while closing all the entry and exit points of the court. The incident took place outside the courtroom of Judge Taseerur Rehman.

This is the second such incident in the sessions’ court this year. On January 31, a murder accused and a police officer were gunned down as two groups resorted to firing in the premises of session court.
