Aditya Chopra, Aamir Khan divided over Vaani Kapoor casting
After much speculation over Yash Raj’s next film Thugs of Hindostan, it’s now certain that it will feature Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan sharing screen space. The spot for the leading lady however, is still wide open. Apparently, YRF head honcho Aditya Chopra and Aamir haven’t been able to zero in on a name for the same. While Adi is keen on bringing on board YRF prodigy Vaani Kapoor, who has a three-film deal with the production house (Shuddh Desi Romance and Befikre being the first two of the trio), Aamir isn’t very convinced about the choice.
A source in the know, says, “Adi is keen on having Vaani. But Aamir would rather that a more established actress takes the spot.” When contacted the spokesperson of YRF, she said, “No actress has been finalised yet.”
The film will be helmed by Dhoom 3 director Vijay Krishna Acharya and will go on floors early next year. The makers have locked Diwali 2018 for their film’s release. Earlier it was also reported that the film was offered to Hrithik Roshan but the actor opted out of it and soon, Aamir Khan hopped on board. The film is based on the novel Confession of a Thug.
