It has been 26 years since Indra Kumar’s love saga, Dil, starring Aamir Khan and Madhuri Dixit first hit the screens. The movie redefined love on screen and went on to achieve cult status. However, rumours have been surfacing that the director has been planning a sequel for the movie and is all set to even re-launch his daughter Shweta Kumar in the film. Shweta was last seen in the 2014 movie Super Nani, but failed to impress the audience.
In a subtle hint during the press conference for his recent sex comedy, Great Grand Masti, Indra Kumar even expressed his intention to venture back into romance. When asked about the rumours, he said, “I want to go back to romance once again. At this age, the romance in me is reawakening and I want to do a romantic film now.” However, the filmmaker didn’t give us any confirmation about a sequel to Dil. A close source to the director reveals that Indra isn’t starting the sequel any time soon.
When contacted about the same, the director said, “Nothing has been finalised on a Dil sequel as of now. I don’t know why media is talking about it. My film Great Grand Masti has just released and now I might think on it.” As far as rumours of re-launching Shweta go, he said, “No, she isn’t there in the film as of now. I can’t talk much about the film at the moment.”
