Good news for Brand Bachchan
Brand Bachchan is one of the most powerful marketing forces in the country. Big B is often referred to as the lord of endorsements — he reportedly charges an endorsement fee of '2.5 to 3 crores a day and his brand value is estimated at over '700 crores. His name appearing in the Panama Papers led many to doubt if his brand value would take a hit now. But looks like bad news has actually turned into good news for brand Bachchan, because companies seem more keen than ever to associate themselves with his name.
A source from the ad industry told us, “He is one actor who is so deeply entrenched in the endorsement arena, no wonder he is called the game changer in not just cinema and television but in brands as well.” And his game is all set to become stronger as we hear that several brands are waiting for Big B’s approval to take things ahead. A source revealed, “Brands like Pidilite, Dabur, E Clinical and Yupp TV are working on big campaigns designed around him. They have all pitched their ideas to Mr Bachchan and waiting for him to give a go-ahead. His current brands are also renewing their contracts. Recently, Kalyan Jewellers renewed his contract and flew him down to Qatar to launch a new store.”
And what about his endorsement for government projects “He has been the face of many campaigns for Save The Tiger, TB awareness, Kisaan campaign on Doordarshan, polio vaccination to name a few. Each of those campaigns has had a huge impact and he is in talks for a few more initiatives. Announcements will be made soon.” Although there is no clarity on this, but there are talks about him being the new face for Incredible India (after Aamir Khan’s exit).
So looks like even in the face of controversy, things are just getting bigger for Big B.
