My journey as an actor has just begun: Himesh Reshammiya
Himesh Reshammiya has always been one to draw extreme reactions. Love him or hate him, but there’s no ignoring the nasal twang that has set multiple records at the box office since it made its debut. Ahead of the release of his film Tera Suroor he says, “It’s my tenth film and that is because my films and music have recovered their money. People have been very supporting, otherwise one cannot sustain for ten films. My journey as an actor that has just begun.”
Himesh believes in being a Jack of all trades and master of one. “A lot of people think versatility is important, but I don’t think so. Lot of new singers are trying to be a Jack of all trades. You have to master a zone where no one can touch you. There is no one like Himesh when it comes to his singing, music, constant track record or his ability to reinvent every time. I am not trying to boast but it's being unconventional that is making me survive. But above all it's the destiny and blessings of my parents and well-wishers because there are so many talented people out there.”
For those wondering why one doesn’t see as much of him as one used to, Himesh says, “I am doing very little work because I want to keep the track record of 650 hits going. I am doing just one or two films a year as a composer, three or four songs as a singer, one film as an actor and one reality show. I am doing less work so that I can maintain its quality. Initially, I used to make 300 songs and record 150, now I make 300 songs but record only 30. I have a lot of pressure to deliver super hit songs.”
