I still call them my boss: Amitabh Bachchan
Much has already been written about superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s struggling years. But what you may not know is that the Sr. Bachchan is still very much in touch with his roots. In the 60s, the actor left Delhi and moved to Kolkata in search of lucrative opportunities. And as fate would have it, the actor did find a job there and it wasn’t after he had stayed in the city for almost eight years that he finally got his break in Saath Hindustani.
However, although he left his previous job in pursuit of glory and stardom, the actor still hasn’t forgotten his life back then and especially his first employers. Interestingly, when Sr. Bachchan was shooting for Te3N, he was constantly seen talking to an old man, who remained at his side. It came to light later that the old man was in fact the Big B’s first boss! Telling us more about this interesting relationship, the actor himself explains, “Whenever I go to Kolkata, I get in touch with them (his previous employers). I don’t think you can forget things like your first job and especially your first boss because I feel that the term boss etches a certain kind of an image in our minds. He is our lawyer, our guru and he is someone who knows everything, and he rules us. Even if you change jobs, I can guarantee you that you can never forget your first boss. And whether he is a good boss or a bad one, you will still use the word ‘boss’.”
The actor further adds, “Every time they come to meet me, I introduce them to others as my bosses. I still call them ‘boss’.”
