Mallika needs no Oscar award
She is the media’s darling. Actress Mallika Sherawat almost never fails to amuse the paparazzi with her risqué remarks or bold statements. It was no different at a recent press conference where the actress said that she needed no Oscar award to make her feel valued as an actor or person. “I was born in a male-dominated society. Being independent and paying my own bills is no less than winning an Oscar for me,” she said. The actress whose film Dirty Politics hits theatres soon says she’s open to the idea of joining politics too. “If a political party were to approach me to be part of it, my first reaction would be. ‘Why not ’,” she said. About her journey in B'town the actress said, “I’ve always looked for strong women-oriented roles — be it Murder, Pyaar Ke Side Effects or Dirty Politics. I am happy about each role and the way my career has shaped up.”
