For me, underrated is a compliment, says Jimmy Shergill
He is known for his unconventional career choices, but actor Jimmy Shergill has persevered and created a niche for himself in the industry. The actor, who will soon be seen in Happy Bhag Jayegi, is all set to make a mark on the screen again. But taking from the trailer, the one question that’s on everyone’s mind is: Why is Jimmy always the guy who lets the girl slip
Jimmy says, “To be fair, Happy (Diana Penty) is running in the film and everyone else is chasing her and not just me.”
Talking about the film, he says, “It is Rai sahab’s production and it is a realistically funny film. I have a very interesting character and it is like a roller-coaster ride. This role is kind of an add-on to what I am doing these days. It is probably one of those characters where I laughed while dubbing for it.” While his repertoire is filled with multi-starrers, Jimmy says that he doesn’t look at films based on the star cast. “In this film specifically, I see myself as Daman Singh Bagga and it has turned out very nicely. He is a very entertaining character.”
As for being called underrated, he says, “Underrated is the biggest compliment for me as an actor.” Talking of his upcoming project, Jimmy says, “Raju ji (Hirani) met me and we had a talk about Munnabhai 3, but nothing is confirmed yet. Apart from that there is Tom Dick And Harry 2, which is again directed by Deepak Tijori.”
