My film should rightfully release on choti Eid: Sohail Khan
Karan Bulani is directing a few episodes of 24, alongside Abhinay Deo and Rensil D’Silva.
While there is still time for the box office clash between Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay and Dharma Productions’ Ae Dil Hai Mushkil next month, two films will be having a face off this weekend. Sohail Khan’s project Freaky Ali is all set to clash against Katrina Kaif-starrer, Baar Baar Dekho at the box office this Friday.
Sohail admits he had no choice but to take on the competition from Baar Baar Dekho. He says, “There are only 52 Fridays in a year. We make over 300 Hindi films. So there will be a situation where two or more films will release together. As far as our film is concerned, we had decided on the dates long ago.”
The director-actor has an explanation for the date. “See, Salman bhai’s films release on Eid. His chota bhai’s (little brother’s) film should rightfully release on choti Eid (which falls on September 12 this year). I think there is enough room for both films. We’re both releasing a modest 800-1,000 prints. Besides, Farhan Akhtar (the producer for Baar Baar Dekho) is like a brother. I would want his film to do as well as mine,” he says.
