Nikhil the chosen one for desi adaptation of Prisoners of War show

If the grapevine is to be trusted, Nikhil Advani, who is enjoying the success of his recently produced film Airlift, is gearing up for another massive project ahead — the adaptation of Israeli television drama series Prisoners Of War for Indian television. The series goes by the title Hatufim in Israel and has been already adapted on American television as the popular series Homeland. It’s about a bipolar CIA agent Carrie Mathison and her belief that the US Marine Corps officer Nicholas Brody, held captive by the Al-Qaeda, has returned as an agent of the terrorist outfit.

Nikhil will not only be producing the series, but also directing the first few episodes. Understandably, the details are being strictly guarded but a close source has revealed that the show is likely to have 52 episodes. The makers are on the verge of signing the contract after which they plan to make an official announcement.

The rights to the original series have been purchased by Star network that roped in Nikhil to adapt it. The filmmaker is also known for his critically acclaimed spy thriller D-Day. We tried to contact Nikhil but he remained unavailable for the comment.
