It’s been a while since rumours about Preity Zinta’s impending nuptials with American beau Gene Goodenough started doing the rounds. And while the actress and Gene did seem to have marriage on their minds, a reliable source tells us that they won’t be tying the knot just yet — because of a death in Gene’s family. “Yes, Preity and Gene were planning their wedding, but because of this family bereavement, there will be some delay in their plans,” our source said.
Speculation about Preity’s wedding had reached fever pitch recently, with reports claiming that she would be tying the knot as early as “next week” or “next month”. Now it seems as though there is no truth to those rumours.
Incidentally, shaadi speculation has surrounded another actress as well of late — the gorgeous Bipasha Basu, who is apparently very serious about current boyfriend Karan Singh Grover. But that too seems to be merely wishful thinking on the part of the gossip mill — especially since Karan’s divorce from Jennifer Winget came through just a few days ago. In the meantime, a close friend of Bipasha’s confirmed, “She is not contemplating marriage as of now.”
