Priyanka Chopra’s production house in payment trouble
Last year, Priyanka Chopra shot for an ad with her production house Purple Pebble Pictures. It has now emerged that dues relating to the ad’s shooting have not been cleared yet. The production company allegedly owes about Rs 16 lakhs to the Film Studios Setting and the Allied Mazdoor Union.
The ad in question was shot from April 29 to May 1 last year in Film City. Since the completion of the shoot, the union has been trying to contact the production house, but to no avail. The union says that someone from the production company had come to meet them, in January this year. They were promised that the dues would be cleared out soon after, but the union claims that they haven’t heard from the production house since.
Joint secretary of the union, Rakesh Maurya rued the trouble such delays in payment cause to the workers depending on daily wages and said, “We haven’t received the payment yet. We have sent two reminder letters also to the production house. The daily wage workers suffer a lot when these payments are not cleared.”
Priyanka Chopra remained unavailable to comment on the matter.
