Telugu cinema’s renowned filmmaker Puri Jagannadh, who is currently shooting his latest film Rogue on the streets of Kolkata, is all set to direct another Hindi film, this time starring Sanjay Dutt.
According to sources close to Dutt, Puri met Sanjay earlier this week and narrated the story, which Dutt apparently liked very much. It is an action story unlike anything the actor has done before, so he immediately said yes to the script. Puri had earlier done Buddha Hoga Tera Baap — his unabashed homage to the Bachchan phenomenon, which didn’t quite work out the way it was planned.
Says Puri, “Yes I am directing a Hindi film with Sanjay Dutt after I wrap up Rogue in Kolkata. I’ve never shot in this part of the country and it’s very inspiring.”
The filmmaker is working with an entirely new team. Says Puri, “As you know, I sacked my entire office and on-location team, some of whom were with me for 20 years. In Rogue I’m working with a new set of technicians and workers. And it’s very exciting.”
