The cast of Anand L Rai’s next film Happy Bhaag Jayegi was in for a spook fest during the shoot recently. The actors—Ali Fazal, Jimmy Shergill and Diana Penty— were put up in a 200-year-old palace-turned-hotel in a village called Labha near Patiala, Punjab for three days and the stay wasn’t exactly pleasant.
Says a source from the team, “We experienced things falling randomly while we were asleep. We even heard whistling noises coming from a floor above our room apart from knocks on the door at weird hours of the night. Ali had the same experience and he had to change the room.”
Not just that, doors shut without any wind and doors slammed in the corridors when no one was present. When we asked Ali about the incident, he said, “I think I had my first encounter with the unknown. It’s almost funny—the spooky sounds of the bag falling, old Maharaja palace turned into a hotel... It’s one of the best and most exotic locations I have stayed in, with of course a sprinkle of spook. I had to change my room at one point.”
