Randeep locked himself in for Sarbjit
Actor Randeep Hooda is on a high these days. After garnering accolades for his performance in Lal Rang, the actor is all set to wow his audience in Sarbjit. Randeep, who is seen in a dishevelled, emaciated look in the trailer has apparently put in a lot of effort to perfect the look of a man who is held in prolonged captivity.
A perfectionist when it comes to his acting, Randeep apparently chained himself with heavy handcuffs weighing about 2.5 kgs each to get into the character of a prisoner, reveals a source close to the actor.
It is well known that Sarabjit was held captive in a Pakistani jail for years, but not many are aware of the kind of torture he had to go through. A source reveals, “To understand Sarabjit’s pain, Randeep also made a dummy jail with an area of just 6x4 feet where he spent his entire day, fully-chained with minimum supply of food. In spite of the great irritation and pain, the actor didn’t give up on his self-imposed training programme and went beyond his limits to bring a realistic performance to the screen.”
Talking about Randeep’s efforts, director Omung Kumar says, “Randeep has given immense dedication and hard work to his character. While he is well known for his method acting, I believe Randeep has given his entire heart and soul for Sarbjit. The level of dedication he put in needs to be acknowledged and it would be visible to the audience too once the movie releases.”
