Sanjay Leela Bhansali snips off 30 designers from Padmavati’s closet
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is leaving no stone unturned to make his Padmavati look like she must—regal and flawless. Known to be a tough taskmaster, the filmmaker has already rejected 30 designers that volunteered to dress the queen of Mewar in his upcoming magnum opus.
Says a source, “SLB is looking for the right person to design costumes for his cast and especially for Deepika Padukone who plays Padmavati in the film. He has already screened 30 designers for the job but hasn’t liked any so far.”
Other actors in the film include Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. This is the first time that SLB’s lead character will be inspired an anti-hero—Alauddin Khilji. The film, which will go on floors by the end of the year, is scheduled to hit the silver screens on November 17, 2017. The team has built a colossal set in the Mumbai’s Mehboob studios for the same.
