Shah Rukh Khan to do a cameo in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil
The recently released teaser and title track of Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan, have received rave reviews from audiences. While the controversy surrounding Kamaal Rashid Khan’s audio clip have recently made headlines with a negative connotation for the movie, a positive rumour that was doing the rounds was that Shah Rukh Khan is to do a cameo in the upcoming movie.
After days of unconfirmed speculation, Karan has finally confirmed that he has directed SRK in a scene for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Karan spoke about his bond with the actor at the Toronto International Film Festival. “Shah Rukh and I have amazing work rapport,” he said. “I haven’t directed a film with him in the last seven years but he did a scene for me recently in a film that is going to release on Diwali. After seven years, when I directed him, I realised nothing had changed. He knew exactly what I was expecting of him and I knew exactly what he was going to do.”
He went on to add, “Ranbir, who’s the lead actor of the movie turned around and said, ‘what you guys have is like an aspiration for an actor to have with his director,’ which is a complete understanding of each other as artists, and I think we have tremendous respect, great regard and a solid friendship that may have been through its own journey, but the eventual result is a bond that’s unshakeable.”
Shah Rukh was a part of Karan’s first four films, but didn’t collaborate with him in his last two directorials, Student of the Year and one part of Bombay Talkies. It will now be interesting to see if he will indeed play Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s husband, as reports suggest.
