Shah Rukh Khan is willing to risk it

When a big-budget film sinks at the box office, it is the producer who usually bears the brunt of it all, monetarily. The actor, who is the face of the film, has to only bear with the tarnishing of his image and box office viability for a while. However, some superstars are doing their bit to share the burden (or the bounty, as the case might be) with the producers. The Khans — Shah Rukh, Aamir, Salman Khan — Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn have been doing it for a while now. And we hear that now SRK has decided to make it a regular practice. From now on, he will co-produce or produce every film he acts in. And that goes for all the projects he is currently in talks for, which includes his films with directors Aanand L. Rai and Imtiaz Ali.

A source said, “Shah Rukh knows how important it is for an actor to be responsible for the fate of the film. He feels that a star shouldn’t just turn his back on a film, after pocketing his fee. If SRK’s name is attached to a film, he’d want to be involved in other aspects of the making, and that will increase the faith one would have in the project.”

SRK also feels his production house, Red Chillies Entertainment, has a lot of expertise that can lift the standards of any project. The source added, “His studio has the best VFX in the business, something which every film needs today. Besides that, he also has the best marketing team and a full-fledged distribution team too. That’s why he wants the directors he works with to have access to these verticals.”

His production house made a debut in overseas distribution with Dilwale that did exceptionally well there.

For YRF’s Fan though, he is only involved as an actor, as sources close to him say that for Shah Rukh, the Chopras mean more to him than just business.
