It’s won an overwhelming amount of acclaim abroad, and now, filmmaker Pan Nalin is hoping to organize a special screening of his Angry Indian Goddesses for superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

Why SRK Well, because long before Nalin made his first feature film (Samsara), he had worked on a documentary about the Badshah of Bollywood. This was when SRK was riding the post-Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge success wave; Nalin had been approached by France’s Canal Plus to make a documentary commemorating the centenary of the invention of cinema by the Lumiere Brothers, and he immediately proposed a film on SRK.

Nalin had in fact, shown the trailer of his film to SRK last year and the filmmaker and the superstar are said to have had a long conversation about Angry Indian Goddesses. Now that is on the verge of its India release, the filmmaker has been in touch with SRK’s team, expressing his keenness to have Shah Rukh see the film.

“When my editor Shreyas Beltangdy finished editing the trailer of Angry Indian Goddesses, the very first person I wanted to share it with was Shah Rukh. So, yes, I had the honour of sharing the trailer of AIG with Shah Rukh Khan. He watched it, loved it, watched it again and expressed a sincere desire to watch the film! So now we will work towards organising a special show for him. I am positive that Shah Rukh will love AIG because he is admired by billion goddesses across the world — and AIG is about those goddesses!”
