Sunny Leone’s band baaja baraat moment

Sunny Leone lived one of her biggest dreams on her fifth wedding anniversary.

Sunny Leone lived one of her biggest dreams on her fifth wedding anniversary. She celebrated five years of matrimony with husband Daniel Weber in style with loud music, chariot and the works — or as we’d say, band, baaja style. The two were in Bengaluru when her team gave her the surprise — a big fat Indian wedding — well almost.

Says Sunny, “The makers of One Night Stand and my personal team hired this chariot with horses and band baaja. It was an amazing feeling because when I got married (in the US) we didn’t have any of that. There were 46 people at the wedding. We got married in a gurudwara in the morning and then at a beach in Santa Monica, in a traditional Jewish setting. Both my parents had passed away before I got married, so the little things that your parents do for you — rituals and ceremonies — were all skipped. My brother is the only family I had with me and we tried to do as much as we could to carry on the family traditions. It may seem trivial to others, but it’s not for me. When the crew organised the whole show on my wedding anniversary, I was crying like a baby throughout the whole thing. It was so sweet!”
