Urvashi Rautela, who won the I Am She title in 2012, but later resigned due to flouting the age requirement, is back in the game to contest for the Miss Universe title on December 21. I Am She, a national beauty pageant headed by Tantra Entertainment and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, used to offer the big ticket to Miss Universe contestants until recently and had crowned Urvashi as the winner.

But when it was found out that she was underage and already held another title as Ms Tourism Queen of the Year International, she had to return the title. Back in the running as Miss Diva Universe 2015, Urvashi will represent India on the Miss Universe stage. Excerpts from an interview.

How the sudden shift from acting to modelling There is actually no sudden shift. I have never deviated myself from modelling. I had started when I was 17 years old and due of the age issues I could not qualify for beauty pageants. And then I got some movie offers. Modelling has always my dream, it’s an amazing platform to represent your nation.

How have you prepared for the contest I haven’t got enough time unlike other contestants but I am utilising every single second to prepare myself and give out the best performance.

Do you think winning this title will give a boost to your acting career Not exactly. I am already doing some great projects in acting. I am playing a role in Great Grand Masti. I have signed a project with Hrithik Roshan and many other things are lined up. So I don’t think my modelling career has anything to do with my acting career.

The last time you were crowned Miss Universe India, you had to pass on the title to another contestant due to some controversy. Did that dishearten you Not at all. I am proud that I am the youngest girl from India to have won that crown. I did have to hand it over to another contestant, but I still have my certificates and sashes and I am really happy about it.
